MASTER'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the 2nd Ontario District.

Knights of Columbus are Catholic gentlemen committed to the exemplification of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. The Order, founded in 1882, has grown from several members in one council to more than 13,000 councils and 1.7 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Guam and Saipan. The Order is firmly committed to the protection of human life, from conception to natural death, and to the preservation and defense of the family. It was on these bedrock principles that the Order was founded over a century ago and remains true to them today

The 2nd Ontario District encompasses 37 Assemblies and some 3400 members of the 4th. The list of Assemblies is available on this website.

The primary purpose of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Knights' respective countries through active membership in local Fourth Degree "Assemblies".

Certain members of the Fourth Degree serve as honour guards and color corps at civic and religious functions, an activity that has brought worldwide recognition to the Knights of Columbus.

Those wearing Red Capes are Colour Corps members. White Capes are Faithful Navigators or Past Faithful Navigators, Purple are Commanders, Green are District Marshalls, Gold are Masters and Light Blue are Vice-Supreme Masters.

Fourth Degree members must retain their membership as Third Degree members in their local councils to remain in good standing.
